"Neesha has been reunited with her family. Their neighbor saw one of my signs at the local grocery store and called them right away. Neesha turns out to be 15 years old and loves to wander. The owners are now going to repair their fence and get some tags for her. Thanks to all of those people who helped corral the wandering Neesha before she went on to the freeway. "This little girl was lost July 4th and had been wandering the woods for FIVE WEEKS within half-mile of her home before finding us. She was extremely skinny and weak, and by far one of the sweetest cats we'd ever met. "After a week of searching on foot, calling her name, searching by car, putting out fliers, ordering postcards to be sent out, my son finally found her underneath the back porch of our next door neighbor's house! She had been there the whole time, but would not come out even when we called her name. There were dogs in the neighbor's yard that barked a lot, so she stayed put. Even when she saw our familiar faces, she did not want to come out. We had to drag her out, but when she finally got back in the house, she became her usual loving, happy self! Testimony to the hints that indoor cats usually don't venture far from home when they get out, and they will likely not come out of hiding even when they hear their name because they are too scared!" "Peaka was heard crying loudly last evening (11/12) and by following the cry, we found she was way high up in the neighbor's cedar tree. After an hour or so of unsuccessful attempts to coax her down, get a ladder tall enough, etc., our neighbor had a relative with a tree-trimming business climb the tree and get her down. "We found our Sam today, we are so thankful. Today it had been a full week and our hopes were dwindling. We had been searching in shifts day and night. We had posted internet ads in every city for up to 100 miles away, we checked internet updates at shelters every few hours round the clock, we went back and added generous rewards on all flyers - still no response. Then today, up and dresses by 6am, I told my family I was going to flush Sam out and I was upping the ante. I started replacing the flyers with new ones that offered a $500 reward. Well lo and behold, within 2 hours I got a phone call from a young man who had Sam and wanted to make sure he could have the $500 in cash. I agreed. We met and he had Sam. I tried to negotiate the reward but he stated he was going to keep Sam and because he is out of work, he wanted the $500. So of course I paid it, and our happy reunion began. Just wanted to say that we searched high and low for a full week with no luck and as soon as we posted flyers for $500, it brought Sam home just like I thought it would. We are thankful to have Sam home, healthy and happy. And we are happy to know that he was with someone who cared for him. "After hiking all over and placing posters in the area, my last stop was at Animal Services. They had an info sheet that listed several websites for advertisements. I covered them all. Two hours later, I got a call from a woman who works at a vet’s office. It seems her boyfriend was hiking miles away from where I was, but my dog showed up and followed him back to his truck.
